Together We Honor
Together we will build a beautiful memorial to honor all veterans,
those who served during times of peace and times of war, and those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Our memorial will recognize all branches of the military and will be:
A place where we will be reminded that America is the land of the free because of the brave who serve and defend.
A place where our youth will learn about military history and understand that ours is a great nation.
A peaceful place of meditation and quiet reflection for veterans, their families, and our community.
A place that our community will be proud of for many generations.
Together, we will honor our veterans.
LOCATION:
The Veterans Memorial Park will be located in the southwest corner of Lois Forte Park. We chose this location because there is water and sewer on site, it is accessible, and there is plenty of space for Veterans events. Additionally, the City will be reconstructing NW 260th Street (between Lois Forte Park & the City compound) and the parking & accessibility will be even better. Once the SR26 one-way pairs are constructed the park will be very visible from the west bound pairs (currently NW 1st Ave). BTW the main part of the Park that you see in the rendering is approx. 50-54 ft in diameter and there is a smaller meditation area to the rear.
TIME FRAME:
We are currently scheduled to begin construction in March 2025 with plan to dedicate the park around the 2025 Memorial Day holiday.
WE NEED YOUR HELP:
Our team and community partners have done an amazing job of fundraising. We still need to raise approximately $90,000 be be fully funded. We would be grateful if you would consider becoming a sponsor of the park, making a donation, buying a brick to honor a veteran. Thank you!!!
How can you help make our community project a success?
